Medical Insurance

I actually would like to spend day and night only with organizing the Route, Sights, getting more things on my Bucket List and watch Vlogs from former Disney Cast Members.

But there are also some important things i have to get settled. One of them is to get a health insurance for my year in the United States. Its actually quite stressful to get things sorted here in Germany. There are a lot of Providers and all of them got different Offers. To make my decision, i made a list with things i had to focus on.

1. Do i have to pay treatments in advance ?
2. How do i get a refund of money i paid in advance ?
3. Do i have to pay a percentage excess ?
4. Do they pay the transport to a hospital if i have the need to get there ?
5. Do they cover me without a booked return flight ?
6. Do they cover Transportation, Outpatient- and Inpatient treatments sensible or necessary ?
7. Is there a possibility to extend my Insurance from abroad ?
8. Are pain-relieving dental treatments included ?
9. Do i have to pay extra if i want to travel to North America ?
10. Do they cover treatments with 100% of the amount ?
11. Are routine examinations included ?

As i couldn`t get any information about the Disney Insurance (as none of the actuall Disney Cast Member or Disney itself talks about it prior to the depature), I decided to go with the insurance from ADAC for my whole stay. They offer the same coverage and are about three times cheaper than comparable insurances from other Providers ( Hanse Merkur, ERV Ergo, Travel Secure, HUK, AXA). The only bad things are, that they charge 50,00 € percentage excess (only once each loss event but not in advance) and dont pay sickness benefit.

To simply not get any problems with my health insurance in the United States, I also decided to get a Health-Check before i leave Germany.
